Private College Student Loan

Great Lakes Education Loan Knowledge Base

Why did the US Dept of Education trasnfer my Stafford student loan to Great Lakes Educational Loan Services? Is this good or bad for me? Is there a better service for me to use other than Great Lakes? The letter I got in the mail says that Great Lakes is now servicing my Stafford student loan account. Does this mean that they can raise my interest?
Who owns Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation? I have my student loan with Great Lakes and wanted to know who actually owns my loan. Has my loan been sold to another company? If you can find that information for me that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
US Department of Education and MyGreatLakes? The US Dept of Education is now servicing my student stafford loan through Great Lakes. They are charging me 6.8% daily. Can they do this? Why isn't this happening to my peers in college with the same loan? The money hasn't even been disbursed to me yet, and they are saying that the interest is accruing daily. I know this is the right interest rate because we called the lenders already. This is a big headache. I need help with student loan issue! The bank that gave me the loan and the servicer isn't helping me!? I have a private student loan through U.S. Bank that is serviced through Great Lakes Education Services. It took me 3 months and a $114 cell phone bill to make this happen and U.S. Bank approved it. NOW, Great Lakes is saying that my account is delinquent when its supposed to be on a forbarence?!?!? I called great lakes and they directed me to U.S. bank and U.S. Bank hasn't returned any of my messages. I'm at the end of my rope and they're pissing me off because it's damaging my credit because somebody effed up. What can I do? Sorry, I should have mentioned that this particular loan is on a forbarence...thats what took the 3 months...
is that a fact that placement scenario for an Entrepreneur MBA is very weak than any other specialization? I am a Mechanical Engineering Graduate of 2010 currently working with Ashok Leyland in Chennai. I am planning to go for an MBA Entrepreneurship for the session starting 2012 which will also mark my work experience to two years, and willing to go for it in some reputed institutions for the quality learning. I have some selected some institutions like Asian School of Management Philippines, ISB Hyderabad and Great Lakes Chennai as they all provide fast track Management course with specialization in Entrepreneurship. But I have come across some blogs on net that state that placement scenario for an Entrepreneur MBA is very weak than any other specialization. You would be confused to read that why I am aspiring for a job after going for an entrepreneurship MBA, because you never know what comes next. So better be on safer side and also I will be studying on an education loan so in order to keep reserves for my liabilities, I might have to opt for a job but not for a very long time. So my ultimate question is “is that a fact that placement scenario for an Entrepreneur MBA is very weak than any other specialization”.
Help government loans? I'm currently in a lot of Government Loan debt... When I started going to school my parents had to declare bankruptcy and well, long story short I'm now in a lot of debt from Education loans. I'm in over $75,000 worth of subsidized and unsubsidized loan debt. I have a Great Lakes loans and an American Education loans and right now I have them at their lowest consolidation paying over $800 a month and I'm quite literally drowning in debt and I can barely afford rent, food, with a good job... and now that i lost that job... i was able to get them to defer it for a couple of months but now they told me that i'm going to be paying EVEN more! Some one help me please! I can't even afford to have heat! These are government loans not regular loans, bankruptcy is not an option (that i know of anyways).
