I am a college student w/bad credit and i need to get a loan for school? I have bad credit and my parents cant cosign a loan because they have bad credit too. I have nobody else who would cosign for me. I dont know what to do now because if i dont get a loan for college I cant go. All I need for the loan is $4500.00 for the whole year. I didnt any financial aid and i have maxed out the loans from the gov. I dont know what to do? If i can get a student loan with my credit who do i go through to get one?

My situation is that I'm a 24 yr. old college student who has bad credit from helping out my elderly parent with their mortgage and bills and I need money for summer school. My problem is that I received the maximum amount the FAFSA would give to pay for fall and sping semesters to pay tuition, so there is none left for the summer sessions. I applied for a chase select loan today and my application was denied...I got a loan from them my last two years of college but since then my financial situation has changed. I have a credit card that I'm a few payments behind on...I know...bad, but I'm starting a payment program on the card this month. But my cosigner has excellent credit.I don't know if the credit card is the reason why I was denied, they wouldn't tell me over the phone, I'm supposed to get a letter in about a week. Have bad credit b/c of student loans, finally doing a deferement, can my credit be turned around in retro? My student loans started to kick in back in December. I never paid anything on any of them and it's now August. I finally applied for student loan deferment, was granted it, and now have no loans to pay for the next 6 months (have to reapply for deferment every 6 months). I was too ashamed and stressed to apply for deferment until I finally did it. Because of this, my credit score is horrible. Is there a way which I can fight for my credit score to be improved now that I have a student loan deferment? The only negative thing on my credit report is my student loans; everything else (credit cards) are fine. On paper my loans are 7-8 months past due, but the deferment is retroactive. PS. Don't go to college, it's a waste of money when anyone can get in. The piece of paper called a degree is useless.

student loan with bad credit? I want to start college in the spring of 08, but im worried about paying for it. Will it be hard for me to get a student loan with my horrible credit? If my husband ( who has perfect credit) co-signs will they give it to me still even tho my credit is very bad? It will only be about $7,000 for 2 years at a comm college...? Also, are most student loans the kind where you have until 6 months after graduating to start paying it back?? Thanks !
