Is it possible to pay student and tuition college loans fast? I mean, financial aid is my biggest concern with college. I've heard stories of people paying tuition fees for the rest of their life... I'm attending the art institute of new york city soon. The tuition fee is 58,000 total. What can I do to prepare for the financial aspect of college? And can I possibly pay it off in less than 4-6 years, instead of 37 years!?

How fast will I be able to pay off student loans? more info provided? I'm going to kettering university and after I am done I'll have about $80,000 of student loans to pay off before interest. If I get a job as soon as i get out, which I have a decent one because of how the college is set up, I make probably atleast $50,0000 a year. I want to pay the loans off as fast as possible so what would the best way to budget be and how long would it take?
I have problems with college loans.? I used my dad's name to borrow the parent loans for college because of the high income in one year, but now we have low income. Well, now i have a part-time job, and I'm trying to pay back the loans in 2-3 years if possible, so I won't get a lot of interest, but would that affect my parents? The government would be concern about my family because they have such a low income, and we are able to pay back the loans soo fast. Would that be a problem? the loans are about 1/4 of our yearly incomes. Also, I can use my leftover financial aid to repay the parent loan, which is higher interest than regular loans.
Paying Off College Loans With Home Equity? Has anyone ever paid off their college loans using the equity in their homes? I've been told that it's the best and fastest way to eliminate debt but I'd rather hear what others have to say.

I graduated 2 weeks ago and have a full-time job... however, I just bought a new car because my old car would fail on me all of the time. One time it almost left me on the freeway on my way to work. However, now I regret it, I have to pay for it for 6 long years and I owe 29,000 in college loans. I also have to pay rent and I feel that I am stuck at this job because of my decisions. I wanted to travel maybe or go back to school to become a kindergarten teacher or maybe if things ever worked out with someone I love move in in 2 years. What do I do? What's the best way to make money fast if you are in college? I need some money for colleg to pay my tuition. I already got a loan but i need 1000$ more to pay it all off. I tried getting a job at some restaurants part time but that didn't work and no one will hire me since college is about to end in a month. I already got as much as financial aid as i could.
How can I pay off my student loans fast? Okay, so it took my going to college to realize how stupid taking out this much in student loans was. I started w/ $80,000, am now down to $70,000 after about a year of extreme payments. I'm getting impatient, though. How can I manage my budget to pay this off faster when my monthly expenses have increased as much as my income. Second job? Better job? Get rich quick scheme? Or just be more patient with myself? The interest is only 4.8 percent, so how worth it is it to pay it off early? Or should I not worry about it and put that money toward braces for now? My dentist says I need braces. I do want to pay it off, not postpone payments.
what is a fast way to make cash for a college student (female)? (other than stripping)? I need to make money, to pay for school. I don't qualify for a loan but my parents are iffy on paying for my education too. Basically i need to somehow make 5000-6000 dollars in a little over a month or at least make 3000 just to pay for half of it and half later. What jobs out there could let me do that? I already work in retail, part time, but it pays me very very little and even if i go full-time i will not make much more either (I calculated it and it's pathetic numbers) I have thought of being an exotic dancer, because the pay is great, but I don't like the nature of the job and plus I would be afraid of someone finding out that's what i did to pay for college. But I would like to find a job that will let me do something physically and something like go-go dancing? I don't know....any suggestions will be appreciated!!!! (Waitressing didnt' work for me either, lol, i tried it and i was the worst waitress ever)
university of phoenix or community college for general education? I don't know whether having a fast paced type of general education at university of phoenix is better than taking it at a community college. I know i'll be finished faster at university of phoenix, but where should i start? i could do university of phoenix for my general ed's and do my majors at a community college or vice versa. which would be the best way to go through college. i'm trying to go through college somewhat fast. i don't really have a lot of money but i could take out loans for phoenix. i just need some advice. thanks.
any tips on how to pay off my students loans faster?!? I am over $20,000 in debt from two years of college, and now I have a job in the industry I went into college for. The problem is I only make 20,000 a year in my job (which i really like), and have other bills, rent, car payments, insurance, groceries etc like everyone else. Does anyone have any tips on how to pay my loan off faster? I make my monthly payments, but the way I am paying them off now it will take me over 6 years to pay. I cant afford higher payments. My job is full-time and I cant handle any more work. Does anyone have any tips or advice from their own experiences?
what banks have best student loans( no-cosigner but good credit)? I am looking for a bank, local or internet that would be willing to loan about 30,000 to a good credit student, but can't get co-signer. can anyone recommencement a website or bank to look into? Federal grants and pell loans, can't pay it all, and looking to get college done fast as possible. thanks.
Need a loan for college, no credit, and a strict budget? Here is the deal. I am 18. Just graduated from high school. I am engaged. Fiance makes 800 every two weeks. I have no co-signer and no credit whatsoever. I plan on going to college and becoming a radiologist. I do plan on getting a job but the school I am going to plans your school schedule for you as I will be on a career plan and getting good work practice and experience, which limits my jobs to either waitering or any retail that will work with school hours. Here is how our budget goes: $350 for both of our car insurances $270 for his student loans $150 for cell phones (which we need as I do have an older unrealable car and he needs his for work) $300 for his car payment (I own mine completely) and we need to get a place to live fast There are condos that we are looking into and the mortgage will be about $300 monthly There will also be water and electricity, we have talked it over and we both can budget as good as we can with that. Are there any good loans for me? I will be going to Montgomery Community College so it won't be too exspensive but I might also need a bit of the loan here and there if we get behind. I plan on paying off these loans as quickly as I can right after I start my career. We will continue living in the budget and I will use most of my income to pay them off as quickly as it is possible. The idea of student loan and debt scares me. I hate that it comes to this, but we I need to start college this spring. I am very firm on making sure I do this. I do not want to not be able to go to college even for a semester (it will be two full years of college). I am understanding that I will be study very hard, working, and getting little sleep but I think it will be well worth it in the end. I need as much advise as I can get. And I am very terrified of getting a loan and making a mistake. Please help!
Will I go to jail if I don't pay off private college loans? After I graduate I'll be almost $200,000 in debt. The first payment is due shortly after I graduate, but I'm afraid won't be able to make the payments right away (like, I need a few years to get my career started up and all. I need some stability first)... Will they send me to jail? If so, how fast? How many payments do I have to miss? .... If not, what will they do? Also, if they decide to sue me for the amount I owe, what if I can't pay that either? I'm scared.
I am a College Student and I Need Money? I am a college student and I need 500 dollars fast now outside of loans (which I am trying to avoid) is there any LEGIT way to get the money. If so list them and let me know. BTW< I do have a job, but I am a part-time worker so the money isnt alot.
what is the best job to have while attending college? i'm almost done with my first quarter of college, finals week this week ughh and it sucks how badly tuition has raised over the college years. i do have loans from the school, but it's really tight for money, and i'm sure lots of people are having a tough time like me too. i've been applying for so many jobs everywhere, whether it's at the mall, at a restaurant, supermarkets, fast food areas, but no call backs from anybody! it's super tough, so do you guys have any tips of being successful at job hunting? thanks in advance.
I have no credit. Can I still get a college loan for law school? I have no credit, mainly because I was on a full scholarship with a stipend through undergraduate school. My car was bought upfront, so no loans there. Plus, I've never had a credit card. I DO have a cable/internet bill in my name, if that counts. I know that no credit is better than BAD credit, but it still concerns me. I want to go to a top law school, where I will probably need $40,000 a year in financial aid to get through. I know I can get Federal Stafford Loans, but will they cover all that? Any suggestions on how to get good credit FAST?

I have a 3.8 GPA from community college - I graduated from High School 2 years early with a 3.5 - top 20 percentile SAT scores -- EVERYTHING NECESSARY... My adviser at SMU said that I am only eligible for a "transfer scholarship" -- and I am 100% eligible BUT I am missing only 3 CREDIT HOURS so I can't get it... and the FAFSA told me that I can't get a grant because my parent's income is too high (they can't pay shit and I know it)... I can't get a Loan because I have no credit and my parents won't cosign... I hate my Dad (no joke)... If I can't get any money by June... then my only choice is to quit on college and work under my associate degree.

taking out a loan for stuff i need for college? I'm going to college this fall, and i was wondering if i can take out a loan so i can buy stuff that i need. The loans isn't anything for education, its just stuff i need. If i can, what are some sites that you can take loans from. Can you take loans before I enter college in the fall? Does my school need to approve it? How fast will the check come to my house? Thanks What happens if i don't have any credit, or my cosigners don't have good credit, then where else can i look?
Financially on my own for college and need help!? Im a senior in high school planning on going to a four year university next year. I am 100% financially on my own next year. My federal forms list me as dependent on my parents because i live with them for now. The student loans offered by my school see that i am a dependent and assume my parents are going to help me pay for college and therefore the loans are for my parents. My parents refuse to take any loans. I dont have nearly enough money to cover the bill myself. I need loans fast and dont know where to look. HELP!!!
I need a quick and cheap way to earn 6 college credit hours.? In order to be contracted with the U.S. Army ROTC at Louisiana State University Shreveport I need to have 30 credit hours. Unfortunately between my military and college transcripts only 24 transferred in. I need to a cheap and very fast way to get 6 credit hours. Note that I do not have student loans and the military will only pay for my college not these 6 credit hours so it will be out of pocket. Thank you!
Where can i find a guaranteed student loan ? Im going into my second year of college and , school starts late next month, but i still owe close to 3,000 for a previous semester and cant register for classes till its paid, ive maxed out my financial aid , stafford, perkins, anything i could get, but its still not enough , ive tried to apply for student loans with a cosigner but i never get approved based on my parent credit past,so does anyone know where i can get a guranteed loan , fast ?
Does anyone today think College is a waste of time and money since not many are hiring College Graduates >>? I just heard today on the radio.. how College graduates are feeling cheated and lied to because.. of the misconception that is now.. a think of the past.. that you get out and get a career in your chosen field. The speaker on the radio said .. if you parents were paying for College fine.. but if a person in today's economy has to pay for it.. and you can't get a job in the chosen field. Your stuck with student loan debt that can't be discharged. Many college students he said of today ... have to take jobs as waiters.. or work in retail.. because there are no jobs to be had. Many companies aren't hiring and can't afford to pay the graduates what they want. Is College in todays world... Not Yesterdays.. Over Rated and more of a money maker for the institutions? College graduates cost companies more money then to train people to do the same or a similar job and not have to invest the money in the graduates to help them re pay College debt. I personally.. from my point of view .. after hearing this radio interview today.. think that trade schools ..and an Associate is the way to go.. and if you can get the company to pay for your future education.. it will be of no cost to you..but an investment with the company. They will be investing in you and you won't have to worry about getting a job or re paying crazy loans. The world is changing fast. College education was once valued higher then it is today..because of the lack of jobs to go around and fierce competition. People are getting further in debt and can't pay their rent once they begin loan debt repayment. Especially..when no jobs are to be had. On line schooling and Colleges are So.....much less. The world is changing and I think we need to all
can i still get student loans in this bad situation? I am in debt and have bad credit, and my parents will have bad credit too, they will not provide financial assistance to me with school, I was just accepted at a big city university. My family only qualified for half of financial aid d\uring community college. I really need to find a way to fund my education, can I still qualify for student loans? and how should i apply for students loans, where should i apply for student loans, and which is the fastest way to get approved for students loans.
How do I support myself and my children while I attend college? I am a single mother of two. I am currently working full time and going to college part time. I go to work during the day and go to college at night, so I dont get to spend a lot of time with my children. I am thinking about quitting my job and getting a part time job some where, maybe Wal-Mart since they haev benefits and a discount card, and going to college full time so I can finish faster. I am wondering if I will have enough money to support us on very limited income. How much can you get in federal student loans per year? I guess I would have to get on food satmps and whatever assistance I could. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do?
Need adivise quick on student loans, PLEASEEEE? okay, so i have nothing to pay for college, LITerALLY!, so now my last resort is going to get a loan for college. But there is one thing that I heard, and that is there are some banks that give out student loans with no interest but the problem is that I can't find those banks that offer that? Does anyone know those kind of banks and know what they are called? or any other usefull student loan companies? I need help fast, my classes start this year in one week
College student in need of loans and extra cash.? I plan to stay on campus and with that being said I may not have a refund. I'm looking for extra cash. Loans. I have the sub and unsubsidize loans and a pell grant. Do anyone know any other way to get money fast. (Loans without a cosigner) I have no one to cosign for me. I have no credit history. I'm a freshman. I need help ASAP. It's very depressing. =(
About the new GI Bill and how it pays for college? Say I join the Air Force today. I finish basic training and get into my job. How long after I start my job will I be able to start going to attending college? Also, according to this http://usmilitary.about.com/od/gibillandta/a/newgibill.htm if I only wait 3 months then I will only receive 40% of my tuition paid and the books and housing aid. Is that correct? Or am I reading it wrong? If so, would I be able to, after 3 months of serving, be able to go to college and receive the 40% paid tuition and the stipend for books and housing (if I need it) and then also be able to use the College Loan Repayment Program ( http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/joiningup/a/clrp.htm ) ? What I'm looking to do here is I'm trying to join the military, rank up as fast as I can, get my college degree so I can become an officer, and then once my 6 years of service is up (+4 years of college) see if I want to keep going or if I could. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to "milk" the military for it's college benefits and then dump it, I want to see if it is something I'd want to make a career out of. But I also want to rank up as fast as I can. Would it be most beneficial for me to: a) Go to college on my own dime, then join the military as an officer and be reimbursed for my qualified student loans b) Get in, do my basic training and job training, do college during my time off c) Get in, do 3 years so I get 100% of the GI Bill to pay for my college and then do my 4 years Also, if I'm say rank E-3, and I go to college and then officer school, do I start as the lowest rank officer? Or do I get like 3rd officer ranking since I've been in for 3 years already (provided I get to E-3 in 3 years)
I have $75,000 in College Loans, with 3 different companies. What do i do? I have $75,000 in College Loans, with 3 different companies. All have different rates. Some are private and some are federal. I just make enough to cover them and rent a month. Sinking fast. What do I do. They are all unconsolidated. How do i consolidate in this economy. Is there a company that can help me with all of this? What will Obama's college loan program do?
college loans and grants? I recently graduated High school in January and I though i would be starting college in the fall of 2010 but instead i decided to apply to a different school and i was accepted I start classes on the 24th of may but my problem is I need to take out a loan or even a grant but my aunt told me that there is no way that my loan will be approved in two weeks what should I do because I really need help fast.
Student loans and releasing my transcript, help!? OK, so here's the story. About five years ago, I decided to attend a local college. At the time, I was in a bad situation (I had just had my daughter at a very young age, the "man" I was with was abusive, etc.) and due to not having a sitter for my daughter, I had to drop out after less than a semester. I received no credit from the college. Fast forward to two years ago. All of the loans and grants that I had received (several thousand dollars worth) were in default, and I was being contacted daily by the Department of Education's collection agency. I went into a loan rehabilitation program and now, I only owe about 500 dollars, and have paid off over 4 thousand dollars. The bad mark on my credit was erased (I checked my report), and I received a letter saying that I was eligible for any and all student aid just as before and that I am in good standing. I decided to register at a different (better) college to take online courses this fall. The problem is (continued) I mentioned on my application to this new school that I had attended the old school. I received a letter stating that in order to finish processing my application, I would have to get an official transcript from the old school. I went online, downloaded the form and sent in a check to the old school. I received a phone call from the school I had previously attended stating that they would not release my transcript because I had an outstanding debt to them, and I have to pay it off. Again, the loan is currently in good standing, and my understanding was that I could re-enroll in a college and the payments for that would be stopped while I was in school (deferrment, I believe it's called?) and I could attend school. However, these people will not release my transcript and I don't know what to do. Is there any way out of this? I will pay the money back, but as the economy is and with two children, I don't exactly have 500 dollars right this minute. Any help is appreciated! Also, I should add that on the new schools website, it states that "Students who wish to enroll in Extended Campus should submit the Application for Admission, the $25 application fee, and have official transcripts sent directly from each college and university where previous credit was earned". Since no credit was earned here, would I be required to send a transcript? I only attended for roughly a month and received no credit. I can pay the money back on the payment schedule. The purpose of "student loans" is for those who can't afford college. I really don't appreciate your smart ass answer which didn't at all answer my question. Reported for non answering of question. No, I DO NOT have two outstanding debts. The loan was for the school. The amount they quotes was almost 500 dollars, the exact same amount that I am repaying to the US Department of Education. There are not two debts. I got loans to pay my tuition. I am paying the loan back. I'm not confused at all. THERE IS ONE LOAN.
I need money for college fast!!!? im looking for a website or something that would good to check for some financial aid. the problem is that im going through the police academy and my college (victoria college in victoria tx) considers this a non credited course. so i cant get regular financial aid or student loans. is there anyone who can help me???
How fast to pay off college debts/student loans (read below)? SCENARIO: let's say for the field you are in your first job pays $45,000 per year, and then after two-three years, you start to make $60,000, and then after five years, $70,000 how fast could you expect to pay off a student loan debt total of $60 (including interest) that had to be chosen to be paid off in a 25-year period ($200~$250 repayments each month) When could you expect to pay it all off, if you saved properly to pay it off faster, yet not live so much on budget (just normally) ? An estimate or guess is what I'm looking for. sorry, i meant the student loan debt total is $60,000 not $60
Where can I get a college loan fast? hello im a college student enrolled in a community college. I get financial aid (fasfa) but that is not enough for my complete college expenses (books, transportation, housing, ect) this became a great problem in my life when my parents passed away. I live with my grandma now and i cant afford to put my college degree on hold to go work at a fast food place par time and take care of her. a loan will save my chances of finishing my BA and hopefully get a job to support myself after. If there is anybody out there that can enlighten me in this topic, or that has gone trough what im going, i would appreciate it if you could tell me what can i do or where can i go to get this loan. thank you for your time.
Hello all. I have a quick college loan question? Between the following 6 banks, which one will be the fastest in processing my stafford college loan: Chase, CollegeInvest, Citibank, US bank, ASAP Union Bank and Trust. Thanks for your time guys.
College vs. Army? My son is graduating from High school next month and decided to join the Army. He is a straight A student and decided to have the military pay for his college after his five year enlistment. The closer it gets to him leaving for Basic Training - the more I worry about it being the wrong decision - for obvious reasons (Iraq etc.). Let's assume that I could change his mind and could talk him into going to college instead - would it be too late for him to get into an accredited institution this fall? Any ideas or suggestions anyone? Where could he go, what could we do to get him in a good college fast? We live in Houston, TX. Also, how and where do you apply for student loans?
How do I get money for college at my hometown? I've filled out my FAFSA and I qualify for student aid. My father passed the way sevral years ago and my mothe works at a poultry plant. Through college, I plan on working part time, but I'm still going to be drowning in expenses and I want to stay away from loans. I live in a small town and since I can ride my bicycle to most locations, I never felt the need for an automobile. In the big city, where I'll be attending college, I plan on taking advantage of the public transportation. That might not take me to all the places, and to avoid getting ran over while riding a bicycle, I see the need for a larger, faster vehicle. What do you guys think about that idea; would you say it's necessary? If so, which kind should I purchase? I will need a fuel efficient one, maybe a small car, motorcycle, moped, or scooter. It's a possibility to resell them too, if I could find where to purchase them for a lower price. I don't want to become a stripper, I doubt others would want my bony butt on their face. I have considered the military, but I want to attend college first, and maybe I'll look into it again in three or four years. I've looked at scolarships and have only been awarded one--a very generous one from my school. I applied for sevral though. While hunting for scolarships at fastweb, I thought about my chances of winning one. The availability of the scolarchips were usualy between 1 and 6, sametimes it was "varies". Students all over the nation are applying for thise. I want to share my time applying for the long shots, and some that have better odds. I don't think anyone has asked the business owners in my hometown for financial aid to go to college. I want to ask them, but how do I go about doing it? How do I make them believe I'm using the money for school and not bicycle parts? What do I need to know? How will I get the money? Will they write a check to me or my school? I want to try. I want to ask but I need a plan, ideas, and your input. Help me, and hopefully this will help other students on their hunt for the road to success. Thank you in advance
college bound student auto loan? Im graduating senior going into college this year. I will be going to college near my home, so i have to commute to school. Due to recent economic hardships i was informed that it is impossible to get a loan from banks even with great credit score. and if i were to go to the dealership to get financed they will give loans with ridiculous rate ... I've never had a job, but about to get one this summer at a local supermarket. and if myself applying for a loan becomes problem. my parents can apply loan for me. and i pay them back from my check everymonth. is there any way i can get a loan from a fast and reliable with reasonable rate of loan? Is there
I need $7,000 fast...? I need $7,000 and fast to buy this mustang I found. Any ideas of how to come up with the money other than loans or selling drugs? I would love to take out alone however I am not 18 and my mom has bad credit still from her college loans.
I want to drop out of college because I have no idea what I want to do and I'm wasting money? I tried the career center at my school. They help a little but I'm still very undecided. I'm a sophomore and still have no idea what to do. I've heard horror stories about people who spent five years in college, but never graduated because they kept changing majors and have loads of college loans to pay off. I've seen people with bachelor degrees working in fast food because they can't get a job related to their major. My favorite subject is math, I started to major in math but I haven't been doing well in my courses. I feel like maybe I should start looking into something else.. I think I should drop out and take a year off to decide what to do. I already know my parents would go crazy if I told them about thinking about this but I want to know what other people think. If I do drop out what do you suggest I do? I don't want to work at a fast food joint, I want to do something productive.

Hello all. I have a college loan question:? Between the following 6 banks, which one will be the fastest in processing my stafford college loan: Chase, CollegeInvest, Citibank, US bank, ASAP Union Bank and Trust. Thanks for your time guys.
I have no idea what I want to study and I'm wasting money, is dropping ut of college the best thing to do? I tried the career center at my school. They help a little but I'm still very undecided. I'm a sophomore and still have no idea what to do. I've heard horror stories about people who spent five years in college, but never graduated because they kept changing majors and have loads of college loans to pay off. I've seen people with bachelor degrees working in fast food because they can't get a job related to their major. My favorite subject is math but I don't want to major in it. Is it better to live an exciting life and graduate college with debt or live a less exciting life and graduate? I live in Derby, Kansas. I hate living around here. For one I am gay and feel that theres no gay culture here and I know like 2 gay people. I am really torn between living here around Wichita and going to Chicago. I cant decide what to do. If I went to Chicago I dont know how much money I would need to make and I dont know if I could get any college loans anyways. So is it better to stay here and try to build a life and then have more freedom after college or is it better to move to Chicago? I would choose move to Chicago because not having a car ( and i hate driving! ) would save a lotta money but I dont know if the higher expense overall would eat away at that really fast. what do you think? I'm going to live in an apartment either way and my parents will make me get my own insurance if I leave home but stay here. Do you think it balances out spending 400 on an apartment or spending 400 in Chicago and having a roommate?
I have already applied for the FAFSA and did not qualify for grants for the summer semester.
A good company to work for during the summer? I am a college student studying to become a nurse. Therefore, I can't afford to sacrifice my precious time to work and make money during the school year. I do not have classes during the summer and wish to get a good paying job to save up and pay my loans faster. I know this is a personal question but I don't come from a family who are college-bred. I'm actually the first one to go to college in my immediate family. Do you think being 45,000 in debt in school loans after graduation (BA in nursing w/ RN degree) is a little steep. I do have a job lined up for me right after graduation, which is nice.
Where can I get a student loan fast? ll be attending a certificate program at a community college and the classes start on monday. It will be Wed. tommarow and I need to get the money fast to pay for 3 classes @ $500 each. The total cost for a certificate will be $13,000.If I cant get a loan by then, then I would have to pay cash that I dont have. And I make to much at my current job to qualify for Fin. Aid. I earned my AA but that was a long time ago and just looking to further my education for a specific job field. If you can direct me to a website,or suggest a financial institution, that would be a great help. Thanks
Are there programs to help you pay off bills faster? I know this is a silly question but i'm only asking because I want to help my boyfriend out. I think he needs to go back to college to get a different career because the one he has now is WAY too stressfull. He agrees with me but the only thing is he has too many bills to be paying for college and trying to pay the bills off. Now i'm not talking about a loan or scholarship. I want to know what he and I can do to help him get in to college faster.
How do I build credit fast? I am a college student that will be going to law school in a little over a year. I just finally received my first credit card ($1,500 line) and am going to try and charge it up while paying it off on time. Is this the best approach to building credit? Will a year or so be enough time to build credit and do you think this will be helpful in being able to get school loans for around $20k a year from private lenders without a cosigner?
How can I get a good paying job, fast, if I'm in college? Okay, my financial aid is running out for this semeser, and getting cut in half next year (THANK YOU tax cut!). Frankly... neither I, nor my Mom, can afford my college education even with the aid I'm getting. I've applied to every scholarship, part-time job, and financial aid that I can think of. I'm ready to resort to yet another loan. How can I get a good paying job, and pretty quickly? I want to take Summer classes (I'll do them online so I can work even more), but college is so expensive and near impossible! Advice? I've already resorted to selling all my old clothes and stuff on Ebay and Craigslist.
What is the fastest way to earn a masters or docterate while working at the same to pay for college? I have yet to decide what career I wish to follow but plan to support myself and would prefer to not have to take out a student loan. health (healing and recovering from long term effects of autoimmune disorder) and MOSTLY family situations (parents retiring and need my help) being unpredictable sometimes I won't have a guarantee at a routine to keep up with regular classes. Some of the more general classes I know I can test at the beginning of a semester and pass without having to attend a class I finished highschool doing that to graduate on time after being sick from gastroporesis(4.0 G.P.A. ;D). More specifically though I thought if perhaps I studied for the classes I can test for pass them and do the rest mostly online all year long (which can sometimes be less scedule restricting) I could do work and studying the rest of my time. I'm 20 & hear it takes 7-10 years to get this level of education so the sooner I can start the better.
Join the military or go to college? My mom is pushing me to join the Navy but my other family is pushing for college (Univ of South Carolina). I will not have any financial support from my family. I have given serious thought towards joining, and I wouldn't mind it, but I can't help but feel like I should be going to college. Yes I can use the GI bill but realistically, I would get my degree faster going full time and I've always wanted to be an officer. I'm academically competitive but scholarships are so hard to get and I really don't want to take out outrageous loans. What is the smartest thing to do that will put me in a better position in the long term? I have spoken with a recruiter. I am aware of NROTC and I will apply once I hear if I am accepted or not. I went to MEPS to be processed recently but I was 3 pounds overweight and the rate I wanted was over manned anyway so I basically took it as a sign to re-evaluate and see what I can do. I will either attend USC or join the Navy.
My parents aren't behind me for going to college. Is it still doable? I'm 18, and the reason i'm not in college already is that i went to Teen Mania's Honor Academy for about six weeks. I hated it. I felt like i was beign brainwashed, and i prayed about it long and hard, and then i left. It's non refundable, so i probably lost about $1000 of my parents money. Now they don't approve of the college i want to go to (it's $8000 a year) and they won't help at all. They say how do we know that you're not going to waste our money again? I was homeschooled, but my ACT score was 29. I want to go this upcoming semester, which means i have to work fast. I'll get students loans this semester, and any grants i can through the FAFSA. But this involves moving, getting a car, getting a computer, and some furniture. Is this still doable?
