Can a person with primary phone line hear the conversation of secondary phone? One of my friend is using t-mobile service and she's on her uncle's family plan. Her uncle haas primary phone and she it in secondary phone line. Whenever I talk to her over a phone I feel like somebody is listening our conversation. She and her other friends says the same thing. Most of the time I hear echo and other times I hear some wierd sound. I feel like her uncle is hearing all those conversations. Is it possible? If it is possible than don't you think its bad to hear others conversation.

reconnecting secondary phone socket from mains? ok ive got myself into a bit of a mess. I accidentally disconnected my mains phone socket which had wires connected to most of the numbers as there was another wire leading off to a secondary phone socket. I managed to figure out that the orange wire connected to 2 and the white wire connected to 5 worked. but i cant figure out which of the wired from the lead coming from the secondary box goes where, on the seconadry box there is an orange wire connected to 2 a white connected to 5 and a green connected to 3 but the the other end of the cable which connects to the mains box i cant seem to figure out. one way i did get it working was to connect the orange and white wire in the same slot (2,5) on the mains socket overlapping the mains wire and it does work but i know this is definately how it was. hope someone clever out there knows what im talking about because even im getting confused

*URGENT HELP PLEASE* Installing a phone jack? Well heres the scoop, along time ago I used to have a secondary phone line in a room, which was deactivated (maybe 10 years ago?). However, the actual jack is still there with all the wiring. my phone system is really old so I tried removing the black and yellow wires and insertting the green and red yet I get no dial tone. I checked downstairs, and theres jsut a box with all the phone wiring, nothing to be able to switch the current wires found in the room to the primary. Outside my house, I found the box where I guess it's either the NID or demarc box? I saw that the jack that used the be a secondary line, is ran from that room all the way outside to this box. No matter what I do, I can't get a dial tone. Any ideas? Also, it seems as if my phone panels are all really old. There are no test jacks or anything. My basement has one large white panel with a loads of wires all connected to different slots (yet nothing that states primary or secondary) and my box outside just has the (I guess working?) Green Red Yellow Black wires, and also the green red yellow black wires from the phone jack in my room. (I know this as instead of an actual yellow wire there is a orange one, however they're all connected to the same thing) Any ideas? Thanks

How do I change a phone jack to my secondary line? (Lots of details within)? I currently have two lines in my home. I am looking to switch over another jack in the home for the secondary line. I went to the other jack and looked down at the wires. According to my research on the internet there are only supposed to be four wires: Black and Yellow, Green and Red. And you are simply supposed to remove the Green and Red lines then cap them off. Well I also have blue, orange, white and orange, white and blue, and green wires back there that go into some sort of junction thing behind the jack. It appears as it goes to the wall, to the junction, then the red, yellow, black, and green wires come from the junction. Also note, on the jack that has the secondary line coming out of the jack only an Orange and White wire are connected. On the jack where I want to install it, the pure white wire is wrapped back as well as a green wire. Question 1: Is it normal to have that junction thing in the back? If so, do I just cut the wires from where the wires come out of the junction? Question 2: Do I need to do anything with the white wire or anything else which has been set aside? Any references will be greatly appreciated. This is a newer house with advanced wiring for DSL and stuff. This is for a US phone line and that is a reference to a UK one. I don't know if it will work. Also, I saw something saying that those wires may be CAT4 or CAT5 connections. At least that is what a DIY website has said. http://www.tech-faq.com/telephone-wiring.shtml I just found this and I think it is more in line with my phone line installation. Perhaps I should just try it the old fashioned way and remove the Green and Red lines?
IS IT LEGAL FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS TO CONFISCATE YOUR PHONE? i did this question B4 but I didn't finish it and i am going to make a long story very short... so i was in maths class sitting down doing my work a teacher walked in with his phone on the bluetooth screen, it said my name on it and he told me to go and give my phone to top office. so that's how i was caught out with my phone, by bluetooth. is it right for the school to make me come in, in the morning earlier than 8:00am to TRY (I might not even get seen because the head of year is in a 'meeting', and can not come out for an hour) and make an appointment for me and my parents then to charge me £5 to get my own phone back? personally i think it's stupid to charge £5 for my own property. and also they say that it could take weeks or even months to get my phone back because they say 'they are taking their time out to come and see you and give your phone back' . also they say that if you don't collect your phone within 6 months they will take out the sim card and give the phone to charity... i think that is such a dumbass stupid rule that my school has made up... i feel like boycotting my school, setting up a petition and all that stuff... what do you think? Is it weird that a guy changes his cell phone number constantly? The first time he said that he conveniently lost his cell then instead of just simply getting a new one ...he got a whole new phone number! eventhough he has 2 times with 2 different numbers already.. Is there a cell phone company from which I can get a text only plan for less than $20 for unlimited? I'm looking for a secondary phone, because Cingular charges $20 a month for unlimited. My dad has a company plan that makes Cingular the best for calling for my family, but the texting doesn't really work for me. Prepaid or not, I'm looking for the cheapest unlimited texting plan without anything else. I know a lot of plans can be found cheaper, but my main issue is isolating text messaging along with no other service. I already have a plan for calls, but cingular is $20 a month for unlimited texting. I'm willing to buy a second phone. I also realize I sound crazy.
Are you considering using Magic Jack (magicJack) phone? If you are, please go to the Better Business Bureau and read why the BBB gives magicJack a big, fat F. Or, read some of the consumer reviews which also give it a big fat F. Otherwise, be prepared for (my personal experience): being charged immediately (instead of in 30 days like they claim); being charged with express delivery when you never requested it, inability to reach anyone live (oh, you can on-line "chat" with someone half-way around the world who does nothing but apologize for your inconvenience or the firm's lack of professionalism); inability to get issues resolved, being overcharged and double charged (that's aside from them charging you immediately) for both the unit and shipping; for additional years' service but that service never being credited to your account, the inability to get a refund or any other financial resolution. While the device works "OK" as a secondary phone if you don't mind a few dropped calls, crackly reception, or having to use an area code to call your neighbor, and your neighbor having to use an area code to call you, otherwise it is a PITA (don't even THINK about using it as a primary phone, especially for 911), has advertising you can't get rid of, "features" that don't work; will frequently stall and lock up your computer (so, you have to wait another 6 minutes and 32 seconds for the "a minute of patience" to load up again); uses HUGE amounts of resources. Oh, and even though they claim they don't give your email address to third-parties, they lie. Watch your inbox get overloaded with crap (I set up a new email address specifically for magicJack and I am getting about 50 bogus and spam emails a day, and the only firm I gave the email address to was magicjack). I truly wish I had done more research (particularly the BBB) and discovered what other disgruntled users were saying before I signed myself up for these past two months of agonizing frustration of trying to retrieve the $160 the magicJack people have stolen from me with their fraudulent and inept practices. Added: I DID return the device 3 months ago (well within the trial period) and after weeks of trying to get any information regarding my refund, they finally told me they will not refund my money because they said I did not return it "properly." While I returned it in the original packing, had put it in a box because I couldn't close up the original package.
Why can't a secondary card hold change the Security code for the internet on a credit card? The bank or I screw up the Secret code and then the Primary card hold has to get on the phone to fix it. What if the primary card hold is in Europe or Asia?
i'm looking for the ideal cell phone? the main things i need in a cell phone are: - a reminder function (organizer; list manager; daily planner) - alarm clock (should be loud enough) - i prefer my phones as monoblocks; but i can accept slide phones if it is not too bulky to fit into my pocket - and of course it has to look good secondary features: phones may or may not include the following: - speakerphone - mp3 player - recorder - camera basically i'm looking for a sturdy phone that has the primary functions i listed above, but since most of the good-looking phones these days have cameras, i'll take camera and music phones into consideration as well. thanks in advance!

What's a good phone that is availabe in Singapore? It should have a good camera. I would actually prefer if it had a secondary camera, though. It also needs to have a lot of memory storage since I'm going to put in a lot of songs. The keypad letters must also be suitable for text messages since I SMS a lot. Phone Jack Second Line Conflict? I just moved into a condo where it is currently only wired for the primary phone line in all three rooms. The phone company has activated two phone lines so I planned to simply re-wire one of the jacks to the secondary line. I was able to activate the second line but in doing so, now the other jacks (still wired for the primary line) do not work. When I went back to red/green on the jack I had changed, the two other jacks work again. From what I have read, it is my understanding that I should be able to go to any of the jacks in the home and change it from a Line 1 to a Line 2 just by rewiring the second line into the primary. Am I doing something obviously wrong that would logically wipe out Line 1 on the untouched jacks?
