Private College Student Loan

What can be considered "extra" expenses when applying for direct student loans, after tuition and books?

I need to request more financial aid money from my student loan for a computer and I just wondered what else qualifies as expenses. My school is closed today due to weather so I cant call them...I thought some of you may know.

1. Transportation costs, daycare, room, board, school supplies, computer... but these are usually already build in to your budget. Schools usually offer you the max amount of loans to begin with. If this is the case, they can't give you any more federal loans... cross your fingers they are not. Good luck.
