I need a private student loan to help pay for college, but I won't be 18 until the end of the year?
My financial aid was not enough to cover my school costs because it required my parents to take a high cost loan that requires almost immediate repayment. So I need to apply for a private student loan but I don't turn 18 until November and my school costs need to be paid by July. Any suggestions

- You are going to have to get a loan with your parents as co-signers :( i got stuck in the same situation, there are some banks that will give you a loan but the interest rates are crazy high, and in the long run will cost more than having your parents co-sine with you.... good luck!
- Yup really know way without someone elses signiture.
- If you are attending a college with loans to you and your parents already and it STILL isn't enough, you need to find a better school. 95% of all schools will cover the ENTIRE cost of attendance PLUS extra without resorting to substandard private student loans. Be aware you will need to go through this EVERY year for 4 years because it is only going to get more expensive. Are your parents willing to cosign and take out a new PLUS loan (adding to the payment they already have) for the next 4 years???? Have a serious heart to heart with them. It sounds like your school is too expensive and you and your parents can't afford it. Do something now before it's too late and you end up being a college dropout with private student loans and no degree to pay them off. Not to mention parents either unwilling or unable to borrow more money because they can't afford any higher payments. Good luck.
