Can delinquient student loans be consolidated with credit consolidators?
Or anything of the sort. I'm trying to pay off old student loans but there are a lot of them. How can I make it easier to make just one monthly payment? Thanks.

- I work for a top student loan company in the United States (Nelnet) and I would recommend calling the Department of Education to consolidate the loans. This would fix your interest rate and lower you rmonthly payments. However, the payments are lower because the term is extended on the loans, so you actually will end up paying a lot more in the long run. If this is a short term situation and you know that you will be having a higher income in the future, stick with what you have now. However, if you are working in a field where the income will not get any higher, then you will want to go ahead and consolidate with Direct Loans. Their website is www.loanconsolidation.ed.gov
