Can I ask for more money while student loan while it is being processed?

Or can i ask for more after it is processed? I have never had a student loan before and decided i will probably need about $400 more than i originally asked for. The loan is in the process of being finalized. If it helps it is a Stafford loan through Nelnet. Thanks. Thanks for everyones actual legitimate answers. 1. The only way you can ask for an additional $400 is if you didn't accept the full loan amounts that were offered to you. If you accepted the maximum amounts that were offered, then no, you can't ask for any more additional loan money. Stafford loans are capped at a certain amount. But if you didn't accept the full amount, then you should be able to get a hold of them and ask them if you can amend your loan to include the additional money. Good luck!
