Private College Student Loan

If someone else pays your student loans, do they get any benefits?

Such as if a family member wants to pay your student loans, and they don't claim you on their taxes, would they be able to benefit in some way? This is for federal direct subsidized, unsubsidized and perkins loans.

  1. No. I can think of NO WAY that anyone would gain any benefit from paying your student loans. That's kinda insane.
  2. No, unless they claimed you on their taxes.
