Private College Student Loan

Has anyone succesffuly negotiated with Sallie Mae for their student loans?

I am not expecting or trying to negotiate on the principal, just the outrageous collection fees (I'm already in default so it's with an outside agency) and maybe some of the interest. Any help/advice/experience with this would be greatly appreciated, I'm looking to offer a payout settlement.

1. I hate to say this but I have a friend that works for sallie Mae and they dont really care about a settlement. They will get what they are owed. She said that they are made to call people and be rude and threaten them. Good Luck!
