Is it possible to transfer your student loan to another bank?

I have a student loan from Citibank that I have been paying for 3 years. I no longer like citibank or any big bank for that matter. Would I be able to transfer the loan to another bank such as a credit union?

1. No, not unless you pay off the old loan with a new loan from a new bank. But then it wouldn't be a student loan any longer and you would not get the tax benefits of it any more.
2. you cannot transfer it unless, you pay off your loan than you can go for another bank
