Private College Student Loan

Do you apply for private student loans every year?

I'm looking at applying for Sallie Mae Smart Option, Chase and Wells Fargo private student loans. Do you reapply every year? With the Sallie Mae Smart Option, I'm looking at paying the interest only payments while in school, and based on 33k for the year they said my interest only payments would be about $79. What happens if/when I reapply for the second year? Anybody have experience with this? Have you applied/done this yourself? This is all so confusing!
