college grants, student loans, scholarships?
im looking for anything that can help me get a car for college. i had a vehicle but it was old and finally laid down and i cant fix it, it would cost way more than its worth. i found a 2000 model Toyota Avalon for $4500, that's in excellent condition. so im looking to get a loan of some sort to buy the car for school. i can afford to pay a little a month and i know that getting a loan from the school would be the best way to go cause it will pay the car off making the car cheaper at the dealer. ANYTHING will be of help thank you i only make $400 a month. so i dont really have money to pay for car payments and insurance i only make $400 a month. so i dont really have money to pay for car payments and insurance

- Depending on the college you go to, sometimes you can petition for more money depending on what you need it for and they will give you more in loans. At my school for example, you can tell them something like, "I need a new laptop" and they will give you the loan to buy one. It has to be practical, of course..which a car may or may not be. I go to a very good school, so it may also be dependent the school. I don't know that all public or community colleges would do this. Most banks offer loans, but depending on your monetary-related history some may give them to you and some not. It never hurts to try. Of course, you can always apply for scholarships as well. The last thing you can do is go to the website called FAFSA. You fill it out with our schools information and they give you financial aid based on your need. They may give you enough to at least help you with payments, but the budgeting will be your responsibility.
- College doesn't give u money for shopping. Tryna find some banks. U will be given if all u said above are true. Goodluck,
- Find a job and save your money. Don't finance a car. The dropout rate of college students responsible for car payments is about 100%. You can't take out a student loan to buy a car. Work full time or more between now and college starting and hope you have enough money. If not, then save it and work while you are in college.
- Your not suppose to used financial aid funds for a vehicle if you read your promissary note. There are dealerships out there that will finance you as long has you have an income of any short coming in. You would need to check out your local phone book or go online and google it to see where a car lot around you is located and check it out.
- Technically, you are allowed to buy a car with your student loans, if you look at your promissory note, it says specifically you are allowed to use the refund for: Transportation. Anyway, you should apply at FAFSA. Receive your Pell Grant and any grants you are eligible for. The best loan you should apply for, and most likely receive, is the Federal Stafford Loan (both subsidized and unsubsidized). If you don't mind making payments in the future, with interest accruing.
