I'm almost 30, needing information on how to get Grants/funding for college?
I'm going to turn 30 in a few months, and I'm sick of working dead end jobs, and decided that I'm going to go to college.I don't want to get burried in college loans, and would love to see if I could get grants or other funding. However, I haven't a clue of where to start looking for grants, etc. Does anyone have any information on where I could start? Or other ways to get money for school???

- I recently bought a book called 501 ways for adults to pay to go to college by Gen and Kelly Tanabe .I found a number of ways that I could finance my own college education as I am going to be getting my high school diploma at age of 30 plus and my next step is college .So I am thinking ahead .
- Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov Fill out your financial aid papers. Depending on your financial status and if you claim dependents will determine how much "free" money you get from the government. When you fill out the FAFSA you are automatically filling out a form for state aid also. There are pell grants, FSEOG grants, state grants. Also depending on your major there are specific grants (ex. TEACH grant for those attending school to become teachers in certain areas. The school you are applying too also most likely has a program aimed specifically at adults to help them pay for college and balance life and school.) DO NOT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS!! its always a scam. There are also subsidized and unsubsidized stafford loans that you are approved for from the government regardless of credit. They are guaranteed for all students. www.fafsa.ed.gov thats all you need. Also call the schools financial aid office and they can even walk you through it.
