Private College Student Loan

If I already have a student loan, can I ask for more money since I have decided to go back to college?

I need money for this new college I would like to attend, I already have a student loan through Great Lakes, and I was wondering if they could just add to that loan the money I need for this new college. I would only be asking for 6,000 maybe a little bit less. I am trying to avoid getting a new loan and also applying for one since my credit is not all that great. Please help thank you! I haven't even been out of school that long to start making payments, so I have not made any mistakes or missed any payments.
