Were you aware of the education gap in politics?

I had a person on here claim that republicans are 35% more likely to have a 4 year degree than democrats, which is of course patently false. When I challenged him to produce the study, he of course could not. But social progressives, on the other hand, can site multiple studies that prove that they posses far more education than republicans. In fact, EVERY demographic study on the matter over the last 40 years show that progressives are more educated. the Pew research center has the most recent data putting Social Progressives with at least some college education at 75% With Social Conservatives showing up at 54%. High school dropout rates among Social Conservatives are 3 times higher than Social Progressives. This is why you have people like ann coulter saying that teachers are "worthless" (she has actually said this repeatedly), and dropout rush limbaugh saying that colleges are "institutions controlled by the left, and not to be trusted." This is also why republican politicians target education funding first and foremost for their cuts, and why they are trying right now to eliminate Pell Grants and government backed student loans.

1. I think the problem is the material they are feeding the kids and college students, when it comes to politics, culture and foreign policy they feed them propaganda, but when it comes to sciences, astute business education and other useful tools they excel. Its just the garbage they feed them so they can justify wars is just ridicules and its not like they are learning.
2. Actually both right and left have little education. Only 27% of adult US population has bachelor degree or higher. 3 in 4 adults in US have no degree, regardless of their political affiliation. And for master's and doctorate its way lower number. On yahoo answers politics section -- i'd say at least 95% have no bachelor degree. Both right and left post stupid and unintelligent answers. They attack the person asking question. And true real degrees like engineering, math, physics, computer science is way lower. There is no evidence to suggest either of the side is more educated the other. What's common is large masses of non-degree people
