Do I need a cosigner applying for a Private Student Loan?
I am an 18 year old college student with no credit. I am planning to apply for a private student loan but I realized my father have bad credit. I can't find anyone else to cosign for me with good credit.

- no its with government.
- You will most likely need a cosigner. The best thing you can do is ask your grandparents or some other family member. It's a tough world out there. Good luck. Tara
- Yes you do have to have a cosigner. If you have exhausted all federal and state aid and still have unmet need, find a cheaper school.
- Borrowing money for school is just borrowing money. The lender will decide if he trusts you enough to just give you the money, or if he wants you to have a co signer. - Stuart
